Implicit, derived or social forms of Collaboration as Creators, Contributors and Publishers to create a Work, drawing upon the resources for Meaning available to a particular language or discourse community. These are meanings which are both shared during the processes of Collaboration to create a Work and shareable to a wider community when the Work is ready for dissemination through processes of Communication.
Collaborators draw upon the resources for Meaning that are available to them as they develop a Work. Their Work may be manifest in the form of one or more Products, Events or Services. A Work has a Title and may vary in Status (as it evolves, for instance, from Design, to Proposal, to Draft, to Edition). It may have a Description which summarises or overviews its content. In the case of text, it will be expressed in a particular Language. It may sit in a defined Relation to other Works, and these connections may be specified as a Sources. Communication of the Work may be the responsibility of a Publisher, on the basis of an assignment or licensing of Rights. It may have an Identifier in the form of a unique string of numbers and/or letters such as an ISBN or a URL. It will have a Format and an inherent and characteristic Structure. Throughout this process, Collaborators work with meanings that are shared amongst themselves. They also work on the assumption that these meanings are shared with a broader community to which they aspire to take their Work through a process of Communication.
